One to one support

One Stop Shops

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, you can come along to a One Stop Shop drop in and speak to supportive professionals all in one at place at the same time. You can receive free advice, information and support from a domestic abuse specialist, housing adviser, legal adviser and more, in a welcoming, safe and confidential space.

You don’t need an appointment to attend One Stop Shop.

Our One Stop Shops are in Canterbury, Ashford and Folkestone & Hythe.

Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)

Our Independent Domestic Violence Advocates, also known as IDVA’s, are here to support you in keeping safe and to feel in control of your journey after experiencing domestic abuse.

IDVA’s are here to support you as you move towards rebuilding your life, supporting you in increasing your safety, offering practical & emotional support and beyond.

We offer this service in Canterbury, Ashford and Folkestone & Hythe.

Outreach Support

Our Outreach Support Workers are here to offer you practical and emotional support, empowering you through your journey to become free from domestic abuse or safer within an existing relationship.

They can offer you support and advice, inform you of your options and rights and collaborate with the necessary agencies.

We provide this service in Canterbury, Ashford and Folkestone & Hythe.

Counselling

Our counsellors are here to help you come to terms with and cope with the impact of abuse, giving you a safe space to be heard and process your experiences. Through weekly sessions, our counsellors will empower you to improve your emotional wellbeing, safety and take the next steps towards recovery.

High Support Need Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (HSN IDVA)

If you are at risk of homelessness, drug and/or alcohol misuse and have experienced domestic abuse, our High Support Need Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (HSN IDVA’s) will take a holistic approach to keeping you safe.

HSN IDVA’s work with other agencies to break down barriers and ensure that your voice is heard throughout your support.

We provide this service in Canterbury, Ashford and Folkestone & Hythe.

Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (HIDVA)

If you’re a attending a hospital appointment, or are admitted as a patient, you can access the specialist support of one of our Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (HIDVAs).

They can offer you support, advice, inform you of your options and rights, and bring together agencies to increase your safety.

We provide this service in Kent & Canterbury, William Harvey, Buckland and Darent Valley Hospital.

Group support

Rising Sun, GSK IMPACT Awards 2024

Phoenix

Phoenix is a 10-week educational programme for women who have experienced domestic abuse. The course covers safety planning, the tactics used in abusive relationships, the warning signs as well as personal boundaries and building healthy relationships in a way that is engaging and promotes self-care.

Family Now

Family Now is a 9-week group programme that explores how domestic abuse can affect women as mothers. It aims to empower and support survivors in their role as mothers, and addresses the developmental and emotional needs of children and young people who have lived with domestic abuse.

Café Support Group

Café is truly a space for you. It’s a place where women come together, in an informal group setting, to chat, have tea, cake and make friends. Women attending Café each have their own personal experience of domestic abuse, creating a place of understanding, openness and community.

Whether you’re unable to leave the relationship right now, you’re planning to leave or you’ve left – you deserve to feel safe.

To help you reduce your risk of harm, we’ve put together some suggestions you may want to consider to make yourself and your children as safe as possible.
