As a specialist domestic abuse provider in east Kent, we provide training to professional agencies, businesses, schools & colleges and more. We are proud to share our expertise in providing trauma-informed, survivor-led domestic abuse support to those working with victim-survivors in our community.

Training can be delivered in-person or online.

Safe Enquiry Training within Hospital

A 30 minute session focused on making safe enquiries and responding appropriately to disclosures from patients within hospital settings, and identifying the signs of domestic abuse. 

Available in Kent & Canterbury Hospital, William Harvey Hospital, Buckland Hospital and Darrent Valley Hospital.

Domestic Abuse Awareness Training

A 1 hour session that provides attendees a brief but deeper knowledge around types of abuse, warning signs, taking a trauma informed approach, impact of abuse, safe enquiry and research.

Domestic Abuse Awareness Training – Half Day

A half-day session for medical students within a University setting. Offers attendees a deeper knowledge around types of abuse, warning signs, taking a trauma-informed approach, impact of abuse, safe enquiry and we include up-to-date research. We also hold discussion groups using case studies.

Available in Canterbury, Ashford and Folkestone & Hythe.

Violence Against Women and Girls Training

A 2 hour session to help attendees develop a clear understanding of what domestic abuse is, how to recognise early warning signs, and the appropriate steps to take when a disclosure is made. Alongside insight into local support services and effective signposting options when supporting a victim.

School Assemblies and Talks

Rising Sun can come into your school to deliver a talk or year group assembly to discuss topics surrounding domestic abuse in an age-appropriate way. All assemblies and talks include content suitable for years 7-13 and can subtly adapted to suit each year group.
