We recognise however, that you may wish to be supported by a charity that you identify with better. There are many organisations and charities that can help you along your journey to recovery, alongside our support.

Oasis Domestic Abuse Service
If you live in Thanet, Dover or Medway and are experiencing domestic abuse you can receive support from Oasis Domestic Abuse Service.
SATEDA
If you are a woman or child/young person living in Swale and are experiencing domestic abuse, you can receive support from SATEDA.
DAVVS
If you live in Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks or Tonbridge and are experiencing domestic abuse, you can receive support from DAVSS.

Sistah Space
Sistah Space support women and families affected by domestic abuse whilst also ensuring that cultural factors are not only considered but understood.
Imkaan Registry
Imkaan is an umbrella women’s organisation addressing violence against Black and Minoritised women and girls, and has a comprehensive list of supporting charities.
The Traveller Movement
Their work aims to advocate for and work with Romani (Gypsy), Roma & Irish Traveller people on a variety of issues, including domestic abuse

Karama Nirvana run the national Honour Based Abuse Helpline, train professionals, gather data to inform policies and services, and campaign for change.

Southall Black Sisters provides holistic advocacy services aimed at helping Black and minoritised women live free from all forms of violence and abuse.
IKWRO
IKWRO provide support for Middle Eastern, North African (MENA) and Afghan women and girls in the UK, who are at risk of VAWG, including “honour” based abuse.
Refugees and Asylum Seekers
Kent Refugee Action Network
KRAN work with young people who have arrived alone in Kent and are claiming asylum. They provide a safe, positive space and offer support, both practical and emotional.

Right to Remain provide a toolkit explaining the routes to immigration status and support if you have experienced domestic abuse in the UK.
Migrant Help
Migrant Help exist to protect people affected by displacement and exploitation, helping them thrive as individuals and recover from their trauma.

Galop
Galop is the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity. They are a service run by LGBT+ people for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence.
Switchboard
Switchboard is a national LGBTQIA+ support line for anyone, at any point in their journey. They can discuss anything related to sexuality and gender identity.
Stonewall Housing
They are the leading national charity supporting LGBTQ+ people of all ages who live in the UK and are experiencing homelessness or living in an unsafe environment.
Older people
Hourglass
Hourglass is a charity providing confidential support to older people or those concerned about an older person who is at risk of, experiencing or recovering from domestic abuse.
Age UK
Age UK provides services at a national and local level to support older people and has expert safeguarding advice for anyone feeling at risk themselves or who has concerns about someone else.
Independent Age
A charity aimed at supporting older adults and families with clear, free and impartial advice on care and support, money and benefits, health and mobility, and staying safe.

SignHealth
SignHealth give Deaf people the tools to rebuild their lives and regain their confidence following domestic abuse through support from qualified Deaf IDVAs.
Refuge
Refuge, the largest domestic abuse organisation in the UK, works with other statutory and voluntary services to ensure they meet the needs of disabled women.
Respond
Respond supports people with learning disabilities, autism or both, who have experienced trauma in their lives, including domestic abuse.

Respect
Respect support men directly and support professionals with a Male Victims Toolkit, they aim to destigmatise abuse and encourage men to speak out.

Citizens Advice offer free, confidential and impartial advice across a wide-range of topics, including law, housing, debt, benefits, immigration and more.
Legal Aid
You might be able to get legal aid if you have evidence that you or your children have been victims of domestic abuse and you cannot afford to pay legal costs.
Pets
Dogs Trust
The Freedom project helps dog owners who are fleeing domestic abuse. Dogs will be placed into a safe and loving foster home with dedicated volunteers until you can be safely reunited.
Cats Protection
The Lifeline project helps cat owners who are fleeing domestic abuse. Cats will be placed into a safe and loving foster home with dedicated volunteers until you can be safely reunited.
The Pet Refuge Project
They can assist those who need to flee or have fled domestic abuse, by organising a foster carer for any pets. There are no limits on the pets we help, and our foster carers are selected from a range of expert volunteers.
